Presented by the Parks and Recreation Commission, the summertime Reggae Nights series kicks off Sat. June 12 at the James Island County Park with sets from N.C. trio Selah Dubb.
Comprised of singer/guitarist Mark Evangelist, keyboardist Heather “Baby Beats” Purdin, and drummer Quazi, Selah Dubb plays a mix of standards, originals, and explorative jams.
Gates at the park will open at 7:30 p.m., and music will begin at 8:30 p.m. It’s an all-ages event. Admission is $8. Children 12 and under and park Gold Pass holders get free admission. Local cuisine, artwork, and crafts will be on hand, too.
Additional concerts in the series are scheduled at James Island as well as at North Charleston’s Wannamaker County Park. The summer roster includes Dub Addis, Jahfe, Mystic Vibrations, Jah Works, and The Resolvers.
