Julie Wheat is headed north. Or west. Or wherever the hell St. Louis is.
The Cavortress designer is one of six finalists chosen to compete at St. Louis Fashion Week Sept. 7-11. Event sponsor Alive Magazine selected Wheat as a semi-finalist, then fans ranked her among the final six via online voting. Wheat is the only finalist from the Southern states.
A panel of judges will evaluate the runway presentations and one person will be named the winner of the Project: Design! competition. The grand prize is a website and a fashion spread in Alive Magazine. Two former contestants are currently on Project Runway season 8.
