Infamous rapper and cannabis condoner Afroman will turn the Lowcountry into the highcountry on Sun. Oct. 17 as part of his 40 oz. iPod Mixtape Tour. Afroman gained popularity for his breakout hit "Because I Got High" (as featured on the soundtrack of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back).

Supporting his 2009 release Frobama: Head of State, the man who pledges allegiance to the swag will bring a night of hip-hop, wit, and reefer-referencing to Halligan’s. Local reggae/rock band Rawberry Jam will open the show, along with acoustic power-duo Big Hit & the Baby Kit. Don’t miss it because you got high.

Tickets are available for $7 at halligansonline.com. Check afromanmusic.com for more. —Jansen Cumbie
