Members of Faces for Radio

Six local musicians have put a new Allman Brothers tribute show together, and they’re solid for a gig on Sat. Jan. 14 at the Pour House.

Guitarists Wallace Mullinax (Freeloaders, the Dead 27’s) and Tyler Ross (Faces for Radio) got the ball rolling a few months ago, enlisting bassist Ben Wells, pianist Gerald Gregory, and drummers Stuart White and Jack Burg along the way. Wells, Gregory, and White are members of Faces for Radio as well.

“Wallace and I had been talking for a while about putting something together, and since he and I both loved the Allman Brothers, it was a perfect fit for the duo guitars,” says Ross, who’ll be playing with this particular group for the first time. “I’ve been a huge fan of the Allmans since I was kid. Duane was the man, but don’t forget Dickey Betts, too.”

The combo will perform two full sets of Allman Brothers hits and deep cuts, including most of the 1972 double album Eat a Peach.
