Hip-hop artist Melvin “Fish Scales” Adams, a member of the Grammy Award-nominated and platinum-selling rap group Nappy Roots, will head to Mt. Pleasant later this month for a performance at Art’s Bar & Grill (413 Coleman Blvd.) on Fri. Jan. 27. It’s a rare hip-hop gig for the neighborhood tavern.’
Fish Scales splits his time between the group’s homebase in Bowling Green, Ky., and his hometown of Milledgeville, Ga. Nappy Roots recently released a 16-track collection titled Pursuit of Nappyness, and Fish Scales has a solo album in the works titled The Balance.
