WEDNESDAY. People love to eat, and say, salsa, and they can eat it for free at Taco Boy’s salsa contest, if they’re one of the first 100 people in the door at 6 p.m.
THURSDAY. Mt. Pleasant’s newest exercise studio, Pure Barre, hosts a grand opening cocktail party. John Michiels’ Quiet Space opens at the Wells Gallery.
FRIDAY. The first day of the Charleston Home and Design Show is free, but you’ll have to pay throughout the rest of the weekend. The Surfrider Foundation’s Midwinter Monster Wave Bash will present local Ghost Wave author Chris Dixon. Take a 6.5 mile hike through Congaree National Park. Dr. Merrill Irvin has a photography show at the Real Estate Studio. What is the Ecstasy of Knowing? SATURDAY. If you missed yesterday’s walk, there’s one today through the Awendaw Passage of the Palmetto Trail. Local burlesque leader Dolly Dee will celebrate her birthday with a show at the Mill, which features burlesque, live music, and more. Food donations are encouraged there.
SUNDAY. The Tin Roof’s Open Mic Comedy Night, hosted by Jason Groce, returns.
