Want to see the latest local theater offerings but low on cash? Luckily most companies offer a pay-what-you-will night. Here are a few happening this week.

Avenue Q is offering a pay-what-you-will night Wed. Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Dock Street Theatre. Our reviewer loved it:

“Avenue Q is all about simply making it work in your twenties: figuring out what you want, how you’re going to get it, and how to get through all the time in between now and then. It’s a simple premise to be sure but, at least in Avenue Q, it never slips into cliché — probably because the puppets make that pretty much impossible. Bravo to Charleston Stage for pulling off this unique and endlessly entertaining production.”

You can also check out Midtown/Sheri Grace Productions’ Last Train to Nibroc for cheap on Thurs. Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. Written by award-winning playwright Arlene Hutton, now serving as an artist-in-residence at the College of Charleston, the play is about a couple that meets on a train. Tickets will be available at the door.
