The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Charleston-born street artist Shepard Fairey is helping to kickstart a new film adaptation of George Orwell’s dystopic classic Nineteen Eighty-Four.
Along with Imagine Entertainment, the production company owned by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, and LBI Entertainment, Fairey is attempting to acquire the rights to the book for a new version of the film. The last major film version of the book, which starred John Hurt and Richard Burton, was conveniently released in 1984.
