Your Saturday night plans should revolve exclusively around the Charleston Battery’s 7:30 p.m. game against the Dayton Dutch Lions. Get your tickets now, and plan to cheer harder than you’ve ever cheered before. Because while the Battery’s Aug. 11 win over the Rochester Rhinos has clinched them a spot in the USL PRO 2012 playoffs, a win this Saturday means the team is guaranteed a third place finish this season.

Battery president Andrew Bell broke things down for us: “We have clinched a USL PRO playoff berth but the final seeding will not be determined until Sunday night,” he says. “We are currently in third position, but depending on the weekend results could finish as high as second or as low as sixth.”

He says the top six teams in USL PRO advance to the post-season, while the top two teams advance directly to a semifinal round, which would be played on Sept. 1. The third and fourth teams will host their quarterfinal matches on Sat. Aug. 25, while the fifth and sixth teams will travel for their quarterfinal matches. All of the matches are single elimination.

Tickets to the game can be purchased here.
