Sauer Grapes Wine Lounge, a new Daniel Island business, has been having a blast hosting pop-up events, samplings, and parties, and now they’ve expanded into wine school classes.
Guest experts teach newbie wine geeks about varietals, regions, and topics. Owner Marie Sauer says the classes combine the fun of winetasting with informative lectures, presentations, and discussions. She wants students to enjoy themselves while also gaining “a higher knowledge and appreciation of all that wine has to offer.”
Frederick Corriher, owner of French Wine Imports, will be teaching a series of classes focusing on the French wine regions of Languedoc, Rhone Valley, and Burgundy while Kelly Barry of Vinifera Imports has been leading classes on her specialty, Italian wines, and will demonstrate the importance of aging wines on Tues. Feb. 19.
