Continental Tire plans North Charleston storage, distribution facility
Plans were unveiled Monday for a new distribution and storage center at the north end of the former Charleston Naval Base. Company officials say the facility will be associated with the $500 million manufacturing plant in Sumter County announced last year.

‘Welcome to Myrtle Manor’ debuts to mixed reviews
Myrtle Beach tourism officials aren’t really sure what to think about TLC’s new show that chronicles a local trailer park, Welcome to Myrtle Manor, which debuted on Sunday, “While we are hearing plenty of negative feedback, we’re thankful it’s mostly coming from local residents and not past or potential visitors.”

SC-1 race dubbed “wildest” in country right now
In a profile of Mark Sanford’s comeback by the New York Times, the free-for-all 20+ candidate race for the 1st Congressional District is described as the “wildest political race in the country right now.” That distinction is certainly not lessened by a New York Magazine report that Sanford is said to have asked his ex-wife Jenny to run his campaign.

Downtown-ers can meet with Mullen on Thursday
The Charleston Police Department will hold a Citizens Advisory Group meeting Thursday night at the downtown branch of the Charleston County Public Library, where Charleston Police Chief Greg Mullen will be available to visit with citizens.
