Downtown commuters venturing below Market St. should avoid East Bay St. between Market and Cumberland as crews continue to work a fire overnight in the building at 213 East Bay St. housing The Brick, Club Light, Speakeasy, and Squeeze.

Reports say the fire, which drew response from Charleston, St. Andrews, James Island, and North Charleston, was called in around 1 A.M. last night. Initial accounts say nobody was hurt and everyone was evacuated from the building.

Crews continued to inspect the building Tuesday morning. Check back soon for more information as it’s available.
