Here’s the pitch:

Gordon Ramsay is producing a new Food Network show — Food Court Wars — starring local-boy-done-good Tyler Florence. He’ll referee as two teams fight to win their own restaurant space (rent-free for one year).

The caveat? The space is in “one of Charleston’s malls.” Not the most enticing location in town for a new restaurant, but Sesame makes it work over at Citadel Mall, so this could prove to be quite the opportunity for an ambitious chef. They value it as worth $100,000.

The producers are looking for a “locally inspired and original eatery” and they want locals with pre-existing connections in the community (ie. they don’t want people parachuting into town for this opportunity).

Deadline to apply is Monday, April 22.

Here’s what we’d like to see: Jimihatt of Guerrilla Cuisine making oyster sliders. Now that would be worth going to the mall for.
