Rain – Soo, it rained a little bit (P&C) yesterday. And since we can’t seem to go a day without a deluge, there may be more rain today, but not a repeat of yesterday.

Flagship 3.0 – The city announced yesterday (P&C) that it would spend $1.7 million to buy a 40,000-sq-ft space at 999 Morrison Blvd., formerly occupied by Charleston Blueprint, to build a third iteration of its Flagship technology incubator. Talking about the merger, Mayor Joe Riley said that in light of the past few years of quick growth of the area’s tech sector, “you have to seize the moment or you may lose it.” Ernest Andrade, director of the Charleston Digital Corridor, said the idea of cultivating the East Bay/Morrison area is intentional, “we want that to become the corridor for tech companies.” We, for one, welcome our new #NoMo neighbors.

Statehouse adopts budget – Columbia lawmakers narrowly passed a $22 billion state budget Wednesday (AP), in time for the beginning of the new fiscal year on July 1. Gov. Nikki Haley will have until Tuesday to return her vetoes, and pols will meet again next week for any override votes. (P&C) Look for more on the budget later today.

Battery parking – Free parking along Murray Blvd. (P&C), a longtime favorite parking area for downtown workers, will soon be harder to come by as the city designates the north side of the street as residential parking only.

County 2 a.m. bar closing – Charleston County Council voted unanimously (Count on 2) on Tuesday to force bars in unincorporated areas of Charleston County to close at 2 a.m. One bar owner present during a public input portion of the meeting urged council members to vote against the proposal, saying that some folks stay out late because they “just want to dance.”

Ballotgate fix – Gov. Haley signed into law (AP) a fix for state election law that would fill in the gaps that got hundreds of candidates kicked off ballots statewide last year.

Hepatitis outbreak at clinic – Twelve patients of the Tri-County Spinal Care Center have now tested positive for hepatitis B (CRBJ), and state health officials have not been able to determine when they were infected.

Boland hearing rescheduled – A hearing to examine the latest results of Alice Boland, the woman accused of attempting to kill an Ashley Hall staff member, has been rescheduled for next month. (Live 5)
