THURSDAY The Charleston Pride Festival continues with Takeover Charleston at DIG in the Park. Guests can enjoy cornhole, food and drink, and music by DJ Trevor D and DJ Bliss.
College of Charleston professor Dr. Julia Eichelberger will be discussing her new book Tell About Night Flowers- Eudora Welty’s Gardening Letters, 1940-1949 about Mississippi novelist Eudora Welty.
FRIDAY Charleston PRIDE will start the weekend off with a meet and greet party at the Aqua Terrace where guests can socialize with other PRIDE guests on the rooftop bar.
First Fridays on Broad continues as the Broad Street Merchants Associate allows guests to enjoy fine art, crafts, fashion, sculpture, jewelry, refreshments, and galleries on Gallery Row starting at 5 p.m.
Jeanne Juhos will present Moments of Nature, an exhibition using watercolors, acrylics, oil and colored pencils at her opening reception at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery.
Gwyneth Scally will have her opening reception at the Redux Contemporary Art Center. Her work explores the malleable natures of truth and information along with the underlying psychological forces that shape the public worlds of mass culture and communication.
SATURDAY For some womanly bonding, the Charleston County Public Library will be hosting the Big Latch On. This event allows participants to join other women across the world as they take part in a synchronized breastfeeding event.
The Charleston PRIDE Parade will start at Wragg Mall at 9 a.m. and end at Colonial Lake. The Charleston PRIDE Rally will start at 11 a.m. and have music, speakers, and performances by the Emperor and Empress of the festival.
