On Sat. Oct. 26 Monster Music and Movies will conduct its second annual Pumpkin Classic, and this year’s free show is headlined by Iraqi thrash metal outfit Acrassicauda, the stars of the 2008 documentary Heavy Metal in Baghdad.

The event kicks off at 1 p.m. and will feature costume and pumpkin-carvings contests — Rachel Kate Gillon and City Paper managing editor Chris Haire will judge the latter. Monster Music will also have free pumpkins for all participants, but you’ll need to bring your own carving supplies and sign up in advance; space is limited. Local punk rockers First World Problem and metal heads Hooded Eagle will also be playing. The Dig Rig food truck will be there serving up yummy grub. For more information, visit monstermusicsc.com.
