[image-1]It can be difficult to shop for our trendy friends. When you just found out about polka dots, they were already decked in plaid. When you were sure UGGs were here to stay, they were buying five pairs of riding boots. When you finally found your favorite shade of orange lipstick, they, well, kept away from that trend. We know how it is.

In comes Cavortess, a clothing and home goods store to fit all of your new and vintage needs (and surely give you an idea about what to buy your cool sister). Started by Art Institute of Charleston teacher Julie Wheat, Cavortress has been featured everywhere from Bonnaroo to Coors Light commercials to Army Wives, and has even created a style event at SXSW. You might recognize Wheat’s designs from Charleston Fashion Week’s Emerging Designer Competition.

But don’t think that you have to go to Atlanta or NYC for a piece of decadent flair. Cavortress has planted roots at the Belle Hall shopping center and will have their grand opening on Thanksgiving weekend. If you check in while in the store using the Yelp Mobile App, you’ll receive 15 percent off one item and the chance to win one of five $50 gift cards. With that kind of promotion, you’ll be able to pick out something for yourself as well. But make sure to ask one of the salespeople for style advice first. We know your track record.

Find Cavortress at 644 Long Point Rd., Suite I, across from Starbucks.
