In honor of the venerable pizza palace’s third birthday, Mellow Mushroom Avondale is hosting a two-day party this weekend. Friday, Mar. 28, grab your club kid gear and glowsticks and head over at 10 p.m. for a rave with beats courtesy of DJ Precise (his website bio promises “hip-hop, house/electronic, ghetto-funk, glitch-hop, dancehall, Top 40, and R&B” tunes), $4 rave shots, $5 liquor drinks, and $2 cheese and $3 specialty slices.
Then Saturday, if you’re not too burnt out from the rave, don your finest ‘70s duds for the restaurant’s Disco Brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A throwback menu with 1974 prices will be on hand and the first 100 people through the door get a mystery envelope with a chance to win a year of free pizza. Groovy.
