Three weeks after initial reports surfaced of a report detailing alleged verbal abuse by CofC basketball coach Doug Wojcik, and a day after the school’s Board of Trustees met in executive session for an hour and additional allegations triggered a second investigation, leadership from the school or its athletic department has still made no comment on the status of the third-year head coach, who would be owed more than $1 million if he’s fired without cause. In a note to campus community members yesterday, new CofC President Glenn McConnell did disclose that the school is no longer persuing a merger with MUSC, but will rather expand the school’s studies to look at offering doctoral degrees. [ABC 4]
