A spokesman for the Charleston Police Department announced at 5 p.m. that the following streets are impassible due to flooding from this afternoon’s torrential downpour. He said the streets should reopen “in about 30 minutes”:
• Bennett between Ashley and Rutledge
• Ashley and Fishburne
• South Market between Meeting and East bay
• North Market between East Bay and Meeting
