In case you haven’t seen it yet, Charleston photographer Patrick Hall’s taser portrait video has been buzzing about the internet this week. The co-founder of fstoppers.com — a photography and video online community — posted the video to his site on Tuesday and it quickly went viral. Which meant it was only matter of time before cable news got hold of it. Yesterday that’s happened when CNN aired the slow motion clip of locals getting zapped with a stun gun in a “Wacky World of Jeanne Moos” segment.
In the clip, Hall shares that he recruited his 100 subjects on Facebook. Participants ranged from friends to strangers on a first date. And the results are fascinating. Subjects tased reactions vary from looks of pure torture to orgasmic pleasure. And, it appears, that was exactly the photographer’s plan. Hall says, “There’s no way you can fake your emotions and expression when you get hit with 300,000 volts of electricity.”
