Dear passengers aboard the Shovels & Rope train: Buckle up, because this ride ain’t slowin’ down.

After a spine-tingling performance on Conan last night that made our hearts swell, Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent announced today that Swimmin’ Time (review here) debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard Top 200 Current chart. The Aug. 26 release is also holding down the No. 2 spot at American Radio for four weeks running, and the album debuted at No. 5 on the Rock chart and #6 on the Independent chart.

If that’s not enough good news, Rolling Stone just published an incredible in-depth feature that perfectly captures the ShoRo we know and love. At the risk of sounding like a bunch of boasting grannies, we couldn’t be more proud.
