The Coastal Carolina Fair may be more than a month away, but we’ve discovered the carnival is just getting started at Big John’s Tavern. New chef Gabe Taber is making deep fried funnel cake sweets. That means fried Moon Pies, Oreo cookies, and assorted candy bars drizzled with Irish caramel, Cheerwine syrup, and chocolate sauce. 

The carnie favorites are just one new element on the chef’s still evolving menu dubbed “Big John’s Mess.”
