Our first taste of renowned North Carolina chef Ashley Christensen’s Beasley’s Chicken + Honey Restaurant was just over a month ago. A weekend road trip for a wedding in Mebane, NC gave us a good excuse to drive to Raleigh in search of brunch. Beasley’s seemed like the obvious choice, and an hour wait in line later we learned why the chef/owner won 2014’s James Beard award for “Best Chef Southeast.” Red bean rancheros with a biscuit on the side? Yes ma’am.

Now Christensen is bringing her talent to Charleston. On Wed. Nov. 19, Butcher & Bee will host the chef for a Beasley’s Chicken + Honey Dinner.

The menu includes the following:

Appetizers
Pecan-Smoked Wings w/Alabama White Sauce
Fried Bologna w/House Made Pickles + Sorghum Dijon Mustard
Fried Black Eye Peas w/Cumin Salt
Roasted Poblano Pimento Cheese w/ House Crackers
Crispy Cheese Grit Fries w/ Chow Chow Malt Aioli

Main:
Beasley’s Chicken & Honey (legs, thighs, wings)
Fried Carolina Shrimp w/ Smoky Tomato Remoulade
Buttermilk Biscuits with Meatloaf & Gravy
