Local singer/songwriter and pianist David Higgins recently released the single “Times Like These,” a pop-rock track with background vocals from Ben Bridwell from Band of Horses. “The collaboration with Ben Bridwell was nothing other than his kindness. We’d become friends several months before I told him that I was working on the new EP, and he would often answer songwriting or music-industry questions for me and guide me along — or just we’d sit and shoot tequila together,” Higgins says. “I mentioned one day that I began recording my first EP and his first words were, ‘I sing like a girl, David. Let me know if you need some background vocals.’” The track is available now on iTunes.
