Local singer-songwriter Rene Russell recently released her third album, Freeverse.

After Russell quit drinking two years ago, she says the creative juices started flowing. “These 13 songs are about change — how I’ve changed, how I want to change myself and the world we live in,” says the 12-string guitarist.

Recorded at Arp Studio (2312 Lazy River Dr.), the folk-rock disc includes collaborations from local musicians like Tim Styles, Dale Baker, Bruce Roberts, Fred Hudson, and Becca Bessinger.

Freeverse can be heard on Soundcloud and purchased at renerussell.com.
