Welp, that’s it. We’re moving to Park Circle. Today’s news has solidified the fact that the North Charleston neighborhood is on the cusp of greatness — they’re getting a wine shop. Summerville’s Accent on Wine & More owner Stephane Peltier and partner John Schaefer will open a second Accents on Wine & More location at 1056 East Montague Ave. in early April.
“We’re about three weeks out,” says Schaefer. That means three weeks until the area gets some serious vino knowledge.
The business partners are both sommeliers, Schaefer has his level one certification, and Peltier has his advanced cert from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Prior to opening Accents on Wine, Peltier was the sommelier for The Woodlands Resort while Schaefer was the somm at Yeamans Hall private golf club before managing Jasmine Porch at The Sanctuary. After five successful years in Summerville, Schaefer says his home neighborhood of Park Circle seemed like the logical place for expansion.
“I think Park Circle is ready for something like this,” says Schaefer. So what will shop patrons get? Accents on Wine & More Park Circle will offer 30 wines by the glass — 15 red and 15 wine that can be enjoyed in the store. In addition, there will be 300 retails wines ranging in price from $11.99 to $3,000. The store, just like in Summerville, will offer cheese and charcuterie to enjoy in-house or to-go.
“The only difference is we’ll have more of a lunch menu,” says Schaefer. Visitors can expect a variety of sandwich offerings.
Accents on Wine & More Park Circle will be open 11 a.m.-10 p.m.(ish), Monday-Saturday.
