What If? Productions is currently accepting submissions for their annual Playwrights Festival, which hosts a juried play competition and staged readings each July. Three finalists will have their plays produced in partial staged readings, with the audience vote contributing to the judges’ final decision.
What If? produces the winning play from the previous year each summer; fans might remember the comedy The Practice Child, which was produced in 2013, and Accepting Applications for a Muse, produced last year. This year patrons can see Irene Pynn’s How to Field Dress an Android.
All submissions must be sent digitally, and can be submitted via What If? Productions’ website at whatifproductions.org. You can also send them as PDF files via email to play@whatifproductions.org.
The deadline to submit is May 1, 2015, and finalists will be announced by May 31.
