The Charleston Regional Alliance for the Arts reports that the six declared candidates for Charleston’s upcoming mayoral race have confirmed that they’ll take part in the Alliance’s Arts Matter Mayoral Summit. At the summit, the candidates will respond to questions from a panel of local arts leaders: Keely Enright of Woolfe Street Playhouse, Josh Silverman of Jericho Advisors and Jericho Arts, and James Braunreuther, the Fine Arts Coordinator for Charleston County Schools. The event is free and open to the public, and audience members will be able to ask questions at the end of the session.

The event is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. on Tues. June 9 at Woolfe Street Playhouse, 34 Woolfe St. downtown. If you can’t attend, there’s another way to get involved — visit IfYouWereMayor.com, a website where you can post your ideas about how to make Charleston a better place.
