Looking for something different? How about levitating 20 feet over the Ashley River on two turbo-charged streams of water? OK, you might not get that high on your first attempt (believe us, we’ve tried), but Hydrofly’s Flyboard lessons are well worth your time.
McKevlin’s Surf Shop
If you’re hoping to catch some waves this summer, this Folly Beach institution has everything you need: new and used surfboards for sale, surfboard and bodyboard rentals, repairs, and even lessons.
Nature Adventures Outfitters
When it comes to kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding on scenic waters, you could do a lot worse than Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant. Rent a board from Nature Adventures Outfitters, sign up for a lesson, and you’ll be out on the water in no time.
Parrot Surf & Skate
Headed out to Sullivan’s or IOP? Mt. Pleasant’s Parrot Surf & Skate has you covered with boards, wetsuits, and accessories. They’ve also got a nice selection of longboards for your street-surfing needs.
Sealand Adventure Sports
In addition to surfboards, Sealand on Sullivan’s Island specializes in kiteboards. They sell equipment and offer lessons to newbies, and if you’ve already got the necessary certification you can rent one out by yourself.
