Tomorrow is the first day of college football. While that means beer, chicken wings, and big screen TVs for most mild-mannered football fans, for us Lowcountry folks it generally means a little something more. Gamecocks and Tigers across the area are gearing up for the months-long battle of trash-talking that divides homes and questions relationships. Pick a side now, so you donโ€™t feel left out. Hey, even if itโ€™s what colors go best with your skin tone, we wonโ€™t judge ya.

Weโ€™ve noted what teams bars support, but if weโ€™ve left someone out and you want us to add your teamโ€™s favorite spot, shoot an email to connelly@charlestoncitypaper.com to let us know where yโ€™all party. (Go hoos, anyone?) All of these bars show more than just one team at any given time, so feel free to go wherever you please โ€” weโ€™ve just let you in on the spots that will be flooded with your teamโ€™s colors.

You can catch the Gamecocks at King Street Grille Mt. Pleasant, Midtown, The Alley, The Sparrow, Big Game Bar and Grille in Mt. Pleasant, Rec Room, and Bay Street Biergarten.ย

The Tigers are always playing at Midtown, The Alley, Rec Room,ย Kickin’ Chicken West Ashley, and Bay Street Biergarten,ย and the Clemson Club also gives a nod to Oโ€™Brionโ€™s on Folly Road as a prime spot.

Virginia Tech Hokies gather at Mellow Mushroom’s downtown location.

You can catch UGA games at Home Team BBQ (both locations โ€” the owners are fans) and The Alley.

Ohioans, we like you we do. And so does Sparianโ€™s! Bowl a game, grab a beer, go Buckeyes.

Catch the TarHeels at Midtown or Burns Alley.ย

Liberty Tap Room is home to Auburn fans.

C-a-t-s cats cats cats! Itโ€™s just fun to say. Cheer this (and whatever else they shout) for UK at Kickinโ€™ Chicken in West Ashley.

Momma Goldbergโ€™s, kicking off their first football season, will show Carolina, Clemson, and Auburn games.ย

Moe’s Crosstown supports Penn State and N.C. state.
