You know how most people’s New Year’s resolutions involve drinking less alcohol? Well, author Jeff Cioletti puts a delicious spin on that boring teetotaler thing in his book, The Year of Drinking Adventurously, where he encourages readers to try a new drink every week for a year. Hallelujah. Head to the Gin Joint tomorrow, Jan. 28, from 5-7 p.m. to grab a copy of Cioletti’s book and talk to the drink genius himself.

Drinking Adventurously‘s 52 chapters cover beer, spirits, cider, and wine, with a little story behind each selected beverage. Some correspond with specific seasons (Mardi Gras, anyone?) and delve into non-traditional bevs to try once a week — which is totally do-able. Learn more about Cioletti and his adventurous drinking on his blog, The Drinkable Globe. He covers subjects like apple moonshine, fruit-forward rum drinks in Maui, shochu — the special spirit of the Japanese island Kyushu — and much, much more.
