Charleston Stage announced their 2016-2017 season last month, with six main-stage performances and three family series plays. Tickets go on sale Fri. April 8 and guests can choose from season series passes, along with FlexTicket packages. 

As for the plays, expect classics like Hairspray, Sept. 7-25, Dracula, Oct. 19-Nov. 6, and White Christmas, Nov. 30-Dec. 18. The 2017 half of the season kicks off with Peter and the Starcatcher, a play described as the grownup prequel to Peter Pan, Feb. 15-Mar. 5. The Miracle Worker, based on Helen Keller’s autobiography, Mar. 15-Apr. 2, and Sister Act, April 12-30.

The family series season kicks off with Beneath the Sweetgrass Moon, a play based on South Carolina African-American folktales, songs, and ghost stories, Nov. 12-13. This year’s holiday play is The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17., and the final play, James and the Giant Peach, Jan. 21-22.
