Aside from it’s appearances on Bravo, not much has been doing on the construction of Southern Charm creator Bryan Kestner’s Generalísimo restaurant. While Kestner wouldn’t expand on the issues when City Paper reached out for comment, he did concede that the project had hit a road block that has stopped all work on the French/Mexican restaurant for the past seven weeks.

We did some BAR digging and it looks like as of March 11, Kestner, along with his architect Kevan Hoertdoefer, had requested:

Final approval for new storefront, door, signage and lighting and
removal of existing signage on east elevation. Request after-the-fact
approval for second-story windows on east elevation, roof replacement,
mechanical equipment on roof, and new wall on rear roof along north
property line.

The BAR’s response:

MOTION: Denial of all after-the-fact requests. Denial of uplights; final
approval for remainder of new requests per staff comments with staff
to review final construction documents.
