Charleston-based jewelry designer Paulina Rodriguez releases her Lina Rosa SS17 collections next Thurs. March 16 from 4-8 p.m. at Open Door Shop, located at 78 Line St. Rodriguez will also reveal a surprise collection during the release — she says, think candy. Shoppers will be able to stop by through Sat. March 18 to pick up a new pair of Rodriguez’s earrings.

Rodriguez is a self-taught bead weaver whose jewelry line is named after her grandmothers’ names and ethnicities: Lina for her Polish grandmother Pauline, and Rosa, for her Puerto Rican grandmother who loved flowers. Rodriguez’s pieces are one-of-a-kind, made with seed beads and fine thread. Check out some of her pieces on her website.
