This Sat. Aug. 5, The Lowcountry Highrollers turn the track into Hogwarts for an evening. The members will be sorted into either Gryffindor or Slytherin and pitted against each other for the House Cup.

To add a level of intrigue to the competition, spectators have the option to pitch in Muggle Money donations, which can curse skaters into the box or buy a certain house extra points.

Other than watching the teams battle it out for the most House Points, spectators can hit the photo booth, enter a raffle, or buy concessions. Food will be provided by local food truck Big Daddy Dave’s BBQ and King of Pops, while drinks will be flowing at the bar. In addition, you’re encouraged to show up in your best wizard robes in hopes of winning the costume contest.

As if all the fun wasn’t enough reason to hop on your broom and go, the derby also has a philanthropic purpose. The proceeds from the raffle, along with donations throughout the night, benefit the Trans Love Fund. This foundation is part of We Are Family, an established LGBTQ support agency for the South Carolina community.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the first whistle is at 6:30 p.m. Buy your advance tickets online ($10/adult, $5/kids 5-10).
