The fact that a report critical of the VC Summer nuclear project existed has existed since 2011 sounds like it was an open secret in the power industry, with Georgia Power, a major utility in that state, saying yesterday that it had knowledge of the report, which supposedly went unseen by lawmakers until September when the Post and Courier first reported about its existence. More than 10 days after an alleged sexual assault took place in one of its on-campus dorms, College of Charleston has not disclosed exaclty where the alleged attack took place. P&C reports that CofC officials first said they didn’t have an incident report, directing them to SLED, which directed them back to CofC, which then turned over a heavily redacted incident report omitting the location of the reported incident. After the Department of Justice walked away from a review of North Chalreston Police Department undertaken after Walter Scott was fatally shot in the back by a North Charleston officer, the department’s chief now says he wants to work with the private Police Foundation to craft a strategy to help the department improve services and community relations.
