If you’ve never had brunch on a farm, you’re missing out. Eating the food that’s been sourced from the fields around you is a pretty special way to dine (we speak from experience, trust us). On Sat. Dec. 9 Joseph and Helen Fields host a Christmas brunch and fundraiser on their farm on Johns Island. The day kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and you can purchase tickets ($15/adult, $8/teens and children) by emailing info@earth-heartgrowers.org or calling (843) 906-6084.

The Christmas Brunch promises Helen Fields’ “secret recipe” shrimp and grits, vegan dishes from Three Little Birds, fried chicken from the Lowcountry Food Bank and SC Strong, and a kale salad from Salthouse Catering — live music from local reggae band Unpolished, a local vendors market, drum circle, and silent auction.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Earth Heart Growers farm program which offers high quality, hands-on education to the students of two local, public Montessori middle schools.
