Dr. Mambo — a new, local group dishing out alt-jazz with hip-hop influenced instrumentals — has released its first album Dubious Food.
The collection comes with the release of a music video for Dubious Food’s new single “Fried Noodles,” a follow-up to last October’s “Horror Stories.”
Shot in Hollywood, S.C., the video stars Forrest Putnam in a bizarre “culinary” excursion at his farm.
Comprised of Sam Stringfield (keys), Eliot Schupp (bass), and Stephen Massar (drums, filmmaker), the trip-hop trio describe Dubious Food as a seven-track album containing “salt, noodles, bugs, and other things that may or may not mix well.”
