Gibbes Museum of Art | Artist choice tour w/ Kristy Bishop
Fiber artist Kristy Bishop is currently in residence at the Gibbes, weaving tapestries inspired by fabrics depicted in objects on view in Black Refractions: Highlights from the Studio Museum in Harlem. Join Bishop, who specializes in weaving, natural dyeing, surface design, and historically inspired costumes for an artist choice tour this Wednesday. If you can’t make it, be sure to swing by the Gibbes now through Aug. 9 to see what Bishop is creating.

Redux Contemporary Art Center | Me and My Girlfriend
Head to Redux for the opening of new exhibition, Me and My Girlfriend, featuring work from HNin Nie and Grace Stott. Redux’s annual two-person exhibition “examines the interconnectivity and parallels between the work of two distinct creative practices.” Nie and Stott discuss the strength and power of women with references to female liberation, self-defense, and companionship.

Terrace Theater | Once Upon a Time In Hollywood
The Terrace screens Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. The film, set in 1969 Los Angeles, is the story of a time when everything is changing as TV star Rick Dalton (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) try to navigate an industry they no longer recognize. The flick might even be considered a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s “golden age.”
