Week of March 16-22
As of Mon. March 16, Theatre 99 has temporarily closed, canceling all shows and classes until further notice.
As of Mon. March 16, Charleston County Parks have canceled all programs and events through Sun. May 10. All parks are still currently open for visitors. Stay up-to-date by following the parks online.
Local St. Patrick’s Day parades scheduled for Tues. March 17 have been canceled. These include the Ancient Order of Hibernians parade scheduled to begin at Radcliffe and King Streets and the Hibernian Society parade, scheduled to begin on East Bay Street.
As of Tues. March 17 all Berkeley County libraries will be closed.
As of Wed. March 18 the Gibbes Museum has closed through March 31. Stay tuned for new dates on all events associated with the museum.
As of Wed. March 18 Flowertown Players have postponed all performances and closed until further notice.
As of Wed. March 18 the Historic Charleston Foundation has closed its house museums, Nathaniel-Russell and Aiken-Rhett House.
Sadler Vaden’s March 19 performance at the Pour House will be postponed. A rescheduled date will be provided at a later time, according to the Pour House.
Upcoming events at Freshfields Village including Thursday’s Sip & Stroll and Saturday’s Cars & Coffee are canceled.
Cher’s Here We Go Again tour, scheduled for March 20, has been postponed until Sept. 12.
Redux Contemporary Art Center has postponed all public classes and events through the month of March. The gallery will remain closed through March as well.
CCPL: As of Mon. March 16 all Charleston County Public Library branches are closed until March 31. All book drop offs are closed starting Fri. March 20.
The Charleston Bluegrass Festival, scheduled for March 20-21, is rescheduled for later this year.
Papadosio is rescheduling their two-night show at the Pour House on March 20-21. Schema will perform two sets on March 20 to fill the spot. Proceeds from the night will go to help them record a new album.
The Charleston Walk for Water, scheduled for March 21, has become a virtual walk. On March 21 walk a three mile route in your local area while wearing your Walk T-shirt and tag #2020VirtualWalkCHS.
The Holy City Vintage Market scheduled for Sun. March 22 has turned into a “virtual market>;” tune into Instagram to shop goods and tag yourself doing market stuff at home like drinking and hanging with your pets. The Festival of Houses and Gardens tours and events have been suspended beginning March 15.
March 23-31
Chamber Music Charleston has postponed their March 24 “Evening with Midori” concert. Ticket holders can contact sandra@chambermusiccharleston.org with questions.
The College of Charleston’s 250th Beethoven concert, scheduled for Thurs. March 26, has been canceled due to travel restrictions for the visiting artist. All College activities have been suspended through April 3.
Columbia’s Indie Grits festival, scheduled for March 26-29, has altered its schedule so that the fest will only include film screenings at Nickelodeon Theatre. Canceled events include the opening night party, puppet slam, and Kindie Grits. All tickets will be refunded.
The annual NEEDTOBREATHE Classic, scheduled for March 30, has been rescheduled for a TBD in October.
The Charleston Gaillard Center is restricting large gatherings in the Performance Hall through April 16, including upcoming CSO concerts, MasterChef Junior Live!, The Play That Goes Wrong, and Philharmonix.
Cats, scheduled fro March 27-29 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, has been postponed.
April and beyond
The Volvo Car Open, scheduled for April 4-12 will not be held. Ticket holders will be refunded or offered credit to the next Open.
All events at the Charleston Music Hall have been postponed through April 1.
TedxCharleston, scheduled for April 1, has been postponed.
Summerville’s Flowertown Festival, scheduled for April 3-5, has been postponed until Labor Day weekend.
The Cooper River Bridge Run, scheduled for Sat. April 4, has been postponed until Aug. 1.
Charleston Gospel Choir’s Spring performance, scheduled for Sat. April 4, has been postponed. Follow the choir’s website to stay-up-to-date with new info.
Criminal Live, scheduled for April 16, has been postponed, with a new date TBD.
The Dig South Tech Summit scheduled for April 22-24 at the Gaillard Center is moving to July 22-24.
The Together Live tour originally scheduled for Mon. April 27 at the Charleston Music Hall has been canceled.
Baby Shark Live!, scheduled for May 12, has been postponed.
Cirque du Soleil’s Crystal performances, including at the North Charleston Coliseum this July, have been canceled.
Older events
The India Association of Greater Charleston’s Holi festival of colors, originally scheduled for this Sun. March 15 has been postponed with a new date TBD.
Richmond’s traveling foodie pop-up, Underground Kitchen, which originally had a dinner scheduled in Charleston on Thurs. March 12, has postponed the event, with a new date TBD.
The Park Circle St. Patrick’s Day block party scheduled for Sat. March 14 has been canceled.
North Charleston Pops! in Space scheduled for Sat. March 14 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center has been rescheduled for May 23.
Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre’s ArtFest, schedule for Sat. March 14, has been canceled.
Della Mae’s performance at the Pour House on March 14 has been postposed. Another date will be announced soon.
Charleston Jazz Orchestra’s Mi Alma Latina performance with Nestor Torres scheduled for March 14 has been rescheduled for July 25. Email jazz@charlestonjazz.com for info about refunds.
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s performance at the Charleston Music Hall on March 13 has been postponed to Nov. 5.
Cowboy Mouth at Holy City Brewing on Sat. March 14 has been canceled. Tickets will be refunded and the taproom will be open for business as usual.
The South Carolina Arts Commission announced that the Poetry Out Loud competition scheduled for Sat. March 14 has been canceled.
