COVID-19 updates: South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 601 new cases of COVID-19 and 26 deaths connected to the virus on Wednesday.
With 3,063 tests reported Wednesday the percent positive rate was 19.6 percent. Yesterday, the percent positive was 22.4 percent.
As of 2:10 p.m. Sept. 2, via S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control:
Confirmed cases in S.C.: 118,699 (+601 new cases since Tuesday)
Positive tests in Charleston County (total): 13,997 (+318)
Negative tests in S.C.: 862,908
Deaths in S.C. from COVID-19: 2,652 (+26)
