McMaster unhappy school districts not offering five day in-class option. In a press conference yesterday, Gov. Henry McMaster said that he was concerned that all school districts aren’t offering a five day in-person option for students returning to schools. “If state law allowed me as governor to require school districts to provide in person instruction, five days a week, as an option, I would have issued the executive order months ago,” McMaster said. S.C. DHEC public health director leaving after short stint. Less than six hours after it was announced that Dr. Joan Duwve, South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Concern’s public health director, would take over Ohio’s health department, she removed her name from consideration, citing personal reasons. On Friday, DHEC announced she would step down from her post at the department. She is the second top official to leave since the pandemic started. Source: AP, DHEC
