Monster Music and Movies in West Ashley, Summerville’s Soundwave and Record Stop downtown are gearing up for the second Record Store Day drop on Sept. 26.

In honor of SUSTO’s special release of “Weather Balloons” on RSD, Monster Music will have a live in-store performance from the indie-Americana artist at 12 p.m.

All three stores are being very diligent to make Record Store Day a clean and safe experience due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Record Store Day was split into three smaller “drops” in 2020, with each day providing new special releases. All three stores participated in the first drop on Aug. 29. The final RSD drop will be on Oct. 24.

A full list of releases, from the remaster of Gangsta’s Paradise to the Mortal Kombat film score, can be found at recordstoreday.com.

Both Monster Music and Movies and Record Stop will open at 8 a.m. Soundwave opens at 11 a.m.
