Firefly Distillery announced the release of Distillery Expressions Low Country Gin, a new spirit that will be available at the Park Circle distillery starting Friday. The new American dry gin is made in small batches using organic junipers and ground botanicals.
“The demand for gin has soared in the past year and it is a favorite of mine, so naturally we wanted to add this to the mix of our products,” said head distiller and general manager Jay Macmurphy in a press release.
“It’s a versatile spirit that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways and we’ll be using local ingredients, so we’re keeping it close to home.”
Low Country Gin joins the list of more than 25 spirits available at Firefly, including sweet tea vodka, apple pie moonshine, bourbon, spiced rum and more.
According to the release, the gin is distilled in a 50-gallon still and has citrusy aromas along with a dry pepper finish. Look for new Low Country gin-based cocktails at the Firefly tasting room utilizing local products from Cannonborough Beverage Co, Bittermilk and Sallie’s Greatest, who will be on-site Friday with free samples of mixers and syrups.
