Rusty Bull Brewing Co. and Swig & Swine’s “Pig Rig” food truck are teaming up for an event that pairs beer flights with bacon-influenced dishes. On Saturday, Jan. 23 stop by the North Charleston brewery for glazed pork belly burnt ends, bacon wrapped dates, pork belly egg rolls, bacon weave s’mores and more from Rusty Bull executive chef Rus Andreas and Swig & Swine pitmaster/owner Anthony DiBernardo.

“Bacon makes everything taste better — it just does,” said Rusty Bull co-owner Brian Bogstad. “This is an event that we started with Swig & Swine the year we opened. It’s a way to showcase our love for bacon.”

The last Saturday of January has been dedicated to bacon and beer for the last three years at Rusty Bull, and each year, the brewery’s release of its Over Boar’d maple bacon stout coincides with the event. This year, Bogstad and co-owner Ben Mayer will release a bottled version of the 12% ABV stout that’s aged in bourbon barrels in addition to the regular Over Boar’d that’s now available at the West Montague Avenue taproom.

A total of six bacon themed dishes will be available for $5 each on Saturday. For more information, visit rustybullbrewing.com
