The city of Charleston will participate in a nationwide COVID-19 memorial today to honor the almost 400,000 Americans killed by the virus.
Charleston city hall will be illuminated and churches throughout the city will toll bells at 5:30 p.m. in memory of the pandemic’s victims.
Over 2 million have died from COVID-19 around the world.
Another 2,570 cases were counted by South Carolina health officials Tuesday. The total number now sits at 357,508 cases and 5,673 deaths. Out of 10,773 tests reported today, 23.9% were positive.
Charleston County has seen 29,418 cases of COVID-19.
