Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) of South Carolina is accepting applications for the Facebook Grant for Sustaining Black Communities, a grant that will provide funding for nonprofits and programs in the Tri-County area supporting innovation, creativity and resiliency in Black communities.
CCF is one of 20 community programs in the United States to receive $1 million from Facebook in December to manage grant making to support Black communities and Black-led nonprofits.
The grant program is designated specifically for nonprofits that provide goods or services directly supporting Black people and Black communities, with preference given to Black-led programs and organizations.
Organizations in the areas of art, culture and humanities; education; human services; community improvement and capacity-building; and civil rights, social action and non-political advocacy are also preferred for the grant.
Applications opened Wednesday morning and close at 5 p.m., Feb. 10. Organizations interested in applying can begin the process online at CCF’s website.
CCF program officer Amber Brown will host virtual Q&A sessions over the next week to assist applicants. Those interested in attending the sessions can email Brown: amber@coastalcommunityfoundation.org.
The group’s Grantmaking and Community Leadership Committee is expected to make a final award decisions in May.
