Rhubarb Vintage will host a pop-up at downtown clothing store Portal from 5-8 p.m. March 17.
The pop-up is a launch event for Rhubarb Vintage, formerly known as Runaround Sue. For the last 10 years, former City Paper music editor Kelly Rae Smith has operated her online shop and pop-up under the name Runaround Sue. Smith told Holy City Sinner she’s celebrating the shop’s decade by making a healthy change.
“It was either make a change that I can get excited about, to help me get my mojo back — or pack it in altogether and move on,” she said. “There is really nothing to lose and everything to gain here.”
Portal is a shop for buying, selling and trading clothing, focusing mostly on vintage and pre-owned items. The store set up shop at 189 St. Philip Street in January.
