Sisters and former Division 1 soccer players Megan Broderick and Kelly Broderick Lamie announced the launch of their beverage company’s first product a|dash, a canned cold brew coffee that’s infused with “a dash” of adaptogens — a term used to describe healing herbs and plants. Charleston residents can order the cold brew in four- or 12-packs online, and single cans will soon be available at select Charleston cafes and retail stores, Megan told the City Paper.
Megan, who played Division 1 soccer at the College of Charleston and now calls the Holy City home, started a|dash’s parent company, Matriarch Beverage Co., with her sister Kelly — a former Division 1 soccer player at Wofford College. The sisters hope their product can provide a slightly less caffeinated, ready-to-drink coffee option for folks on the go.
According to a press release, a|dash is “infused with 165mg of Ashwagandha and 110mg of caffeine,” and it’s “designed to be lightly roasted and refreshing with a hint of earthiness and a smooth finish. It provides balanced, functional energy throughout the day.”
“Whether you are familiar with adaptogens or are curious to try something new, a|dash provides a moment of self-care in your daily routine without the inconvenience of adding adaptogenic powders or pills,” Megan said in the release. “We are thrilled to bring our beverage expertise and life experience to the emerging wellness category, allowing consumers access to a beverage that provides health and harmony while meeting the everyday needs of their busy lifestyles.”
Order a|dash online at drinkadash.com. Single cans will also be available in local retail shops and cafes “before the end of the month,” Megan said.
